ConNetica Director John Mendoza a finalist in the Australian Mental Health Prize

Congratulations John Mendoza - National Mental Health Finalist Award nominee. Our ConNetica team is very proud of you!

While public recognition has not been the driver behind John's tireless work for more than a decade to improve Australians' mental health and associated services and systems, it is wonderful to see his work acknowledged. No one can doubt is passion and commitment and with today marking the anniversary of the loss of our beloved nephew, Jeff Mendoza to suicide - the timing is poignant.

John was nominated alongside esteemed and passionate mental health advocates including Annette Baker who established The Winter Solstice event for those bereaved by suicide, Betty Kitchener who founded Mental Health First Aid Australia, Professor Ian Hickie of the Brain and Mind Institute at Sydney University, James Prascevic, an advocate for serving and ex-serving military personnel and their mental wellbeing, Joe Williams, an Indigenous suicide prevention advocate, and Kim Ryan, CEO of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.

Kim Ryan was awarded the inaugural Australian Mental Health Prize. Information on Kim's contribution to mental health in Australia can be found here
