Taking care of your (and other people's) mental health and wellbeing is important - gone are the times where mental health support and care was only for those who had reached a crisis point. In this day and age, maintenance of wellbeing is just as important as acute crisis care. And the evidence is unequivocally in support of this.
In an increasingly connected and integrated world there are more opportunities than ever to check in with ourselves and others on our mental health. For businesses, schools, community groups and governments there is a mountain of evidence to suggest that a mentally healthy population is more productive and less reliant on expensive health services. The incentive is there to strengthen the wellbeing of employees, students and our communities.
There are a wealth of wellbeing programs for people to choose from - what sets ConNetica's solutions apart, we believe, is our ability to work with your organisation to deliver tailored, interactive and effective mental health and wellbeing solutions. And we now have a strong evidence base to support the benefit and impact of our suite of mental health and wellbeing solutions.
In the graph below, three evaluation indicators are presented comparing pre and post-course scores. In each case skills and willingness evidenced a statistically significant increase* between pre and post-course. After the half-day Conversation for life program, participants left feeling they had more skills to start a conversation with someone they might be concerned about, felt they had greater skills to encourage someone to express their feelings and thoughts, and were more willing to take practical, actionable steps in assisting that persons wellbeing.

Conversations for life – Half day early suicide prevention program
For ConNetica's full-day, more intensive Strengthened for life course, the results followed a similar trajectory. In the graph below, pre and post scores are shown again for three indicators. Participant's left the course with a statistically significant increase for skills in recognising when to intervene, and increased skills and willingness in how to refer someone to help.
Strengthened for life- Full day imminent risk of suicide prevention program
Finally, ConNetica's Resilience Under Pressure course has also shown positive results. Participant's complete our Resilience Under Pressure course with statistically significant increases in skills to maintain perspective about issues in their lives, visualising success and maintaining good physical health when under pressure. The Resilience Under Pressure course is perfect for building a strong, resilient and healthy workplace.
Resilience Under Pressure - ConNetica Resilience and Wellbeing program
At the time of writing, ConNetica is developing a culturally appropriate evaluation tool for our Stronger Smarter Yarns for life program - An Indigenous specific suicide prevention program co-designed and delivered by and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
What we also know is that numbers alone cannot tell the story. Countless participants have provided wonderful feedback for our facilitators and for the courses. And we continue to refine and develop on the constructive feedback we receive as well.
Combined with ConNetica's suicide prevention mobile applications - Conversations for life and the soon to be released Chats for life (suicide prevention for young people - co-designed with young people and the University of the Sunshine Coast), ConNetica have developed an innovative suite of suicide prevention solutions for business, communities and young people.
