John Mendoza - Director
Adjunct Professor John Mendoza is a Director of ConNetica, a specialist mental health and health services consultancy. He is also presently Director of Lifeboat (a joint venture initiative on suicide prevention); Adjunct Professor, Health and Sport Science, University of the Sunshine Coast and Adjunct Associate Professor, Mental Health Policy Unit, Brain and Mind Centre, University of Sydney.
Prior to establishing ConNetica in 2007, John’s career had involved holding several executive positions including Chief Executive Officer of the Mental Health Council of Australia (MHCA), Chief Executive of the Australian Sports Drug Agency and Inaugural Chair, National Advisory Council on Mental Health, to the Federal Health Minister, The Hon Nicola Roxon MP. He was until recently, Independent Chair, headspace Maroochydore and a foundation Board member of the Young and Well Cooperative Research Centre and is a past Deputy President of the Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia. In 2010 he received a Lifetime achievement award for his contribution to suicide prevention in Australia.
John holds a Grad. Dip. Health Education, Bachelor of Education (QUT), and Dip Teaching (Physical Education).
